Today I visited the Agrisole winery located in La Serra, Municipality of San Miniato. As soon as I arrived I was greeted with a big smile by Nicoletta and the festive dog of the house. Nicoletta accompanied us to see the vineyards, telling us the importance of the soil, exposure to the sun and the cycle of growth of grapes and olive trees. Then we visited the concrete and steel cellar and finally sat down for tasting in a glass room that allowed us to admire the countryside panorama while tasting the wines of the farm.
The production is really vast and the tasting is exhaustive with Nicoletta who explains the wines and their combinations making us taste a cutting board of local goodness so as not to get drunk! Excellent rosé, but even more the Bianco Mafefa which takes its name from the union of the initials of the owner’s children to get to the reds, excellent products of the farm. In all we tasted 8 wines .. in my case I waited a moment before getting back to driving! If you go by taxi or with a teetotal person it is better! The tasting room is on the ground floor so access is also easy for the disabled or people with prams. Congratulations to Nicoletta for how she told us about the beauty of agricultural production and made us feel “in the family” and the producing family for the excellent wines and oil! The farm is 15 minutes by car from the Residence Santa Maria, tastings take place on request in Italian and English by booking through us at the reception. https://www.poderepellicciano.it/
