The prehistoric park of Peccioli is a unique place. It is located in the Municipality of Peccioli, approx. 30 minutes on a panoramic road from our Residence. I visited it when I was in primary school and going back with my 3 year old son was really fun. When he saw the first dinosaur he made an expression of amazement and joy and wanted me to read all the features listed in Italian and in various foreign languages ​​on the panel next to each dinosaur. He promptly divided the animals into dinosaurs and hippos for the lower ones and enjoyed walking around the park finding a prehistoric animal on every corner. The route is interesting, there are numerous dinosaurs accompanied by explanations on the characteristics and place of discovery.

For children 3-12 years it is a nice park and there are tables to eat outside in the small wood therefore even in hot weather the temperature is pleasant. There are also caves where prehistoric men can be seen.

We stopped to talk to the park owner who told us he was from the circus world and that he was a snake charmer.      He is very nice and knows how to deal with children.

In addition, there is a kiosk for prehistoric souvenirs and a bar with a playground, including motorbikes, electric train and playground with outdoor tables for spending an afternoon with the family. The Prehistoric Park of Peccioli is the ideal place for a trip out of town with children, in the cool and with attractions. It is not very big but its peculiarity makes it unique and the children were all enthusiastic.

I asked my son if the dinosaurs had frightened him and he promptly replied that no they had not frightened him, they are plastic mom !!! But they are very beautiful!

We went home pleasantly impressed by this children’s park, definitely to be seen!
