Read MoreThe Museum of Memory, renamed Mume is a museum with a modern design born in the premises of the San Miniato library to witness the years of the Second World War, the feeling of Antifascism and Resistance. My grandparents lived in those years and often told me what they had suffered, war, fears, extreme poverty. The museum tells the years from 1921 to 1946.
This museum houses many objects of the time, letters from those who do not know if they will see their beloved woman, the objects of the partisan Giuseppe Gori di Cigoli and is structured to offer an authentic sensorial experience.
Furthermore, let's not forget that in San Miniato the bomb wound in the Duomo is still open and here it is told how masterfully the Taviani brothers, natives of San Miniato, did in the film "The night of San Lorenzo".
It comes out with many questions and reflections and with the desire to still listen to the stories of the grandparents for those who still have it alive.
