Often when the word “museum” is said, children stiffen and think that we are going to take them to a boring place .. Instead the San Miniato handwriting museum was a pleasant discovery and the children appreciated it very much. It is a complete museum that tells how writing and its evolution was born and with the help of the operators it is possible to participate in the workshops to stimulate the children to become “scriba” for a day and to try the various writing techniques. Signs, Egyptian, Etruscan writing, the medieval scriptorium and even printing with the press. There is also a section that tells us how man began to “count the passing of hours” and therefore time and numbers. Perhaps man has begun to measure time through the position of his shadow. It was really interesting to participate in logical games and workshops.
Open by reservation, with the possibility of celebrating children’s birthdays inside.
